Britain's most south-westerly cycling club, Penzance Wheelers was formed in the 1930s.
We're lucky to be able to ride on some of the most picturesque roads in the country, with the sea and moors of West Cornwall as a constant backdrop.
During the racing season we promote time trials at all distances, a criterium road race series, a locally-based 10-mile time trial series and regular training evenings.
We hold an annual charity ride, usually in April, in aid of Prostate Cancer UK (see tab above), we ran a ladies only sportive type event in 2013 and 2014 (unfortunately cancelled in 2015 due to adverse weather conditions), we run weekly "chain gang" sessions in the summer plus annual roller-racing and hill-climb events.
With a large and active membership, we hold club runs every Sunday plus rides on Tuesdays and Thursdays, a weekly club social gathering (Tuesday, 19:00 onwards) at The Star Inn, Crowlas. The Star is also a mecca for lovers of good beer!
Penzance Wheelers has produced riders of regional, national and international standing. We are an inclusive club that welcomes new members - male and female, young and old.
